OUR NHL ALUMNI

I work with Steffany and Vanessa at Quantum Speed™ because I believe that it is very important to continue to work on your skating because you know that all of your competition is. The thing I love about Quantum Speed™ is how good of a job they do in breaking down my stride and finding the smallest thing to change that makes a big difference for me on the ice. #quantumspeedrocks!!!!

I've been fortunate to participate in Quantum Speed™ for over the past Ten Years. Quantum Speeds programs are one of the biggest reasons I am the player I am today because skating is such a major aspect of the game. Quantum Speed™, with Vanessa Hettinger, has helped me reach new levels every year because they keep updating the programs to meet the needs of each level of player.

In addition to their Q3 skating program, Quantum Speeds stickhandling camp (Q3i) has helped me handle the puck better at the higher speeds I was able to achieve in the skating camps!

The past 2 summers I've had the opportunity to work with the team at Quantum Speed™ as a junior instructor and demonstrator. I can't say enough about the quality of people that work with and for them. Everyone's work ethic and commitment to the players makes it fun to be around and easy to absorb information, for the player, and also the other instructors. I recommend Quantum Speed™ to all players serious about their game and taking the next step in their career!

I currently play for the Yale Bulldogs in the ACAC. I just finished Technique week with QS, and I really enjoyed it. I really learned a lot, especially about connecting my body so I can be faster and more efficient on the ice. A highlight for me was working with a group of really keen instructors that gave a lot of feedback, and a group of energetic guys that were ready to work.

My highlight in completing my first Q3 program is knowing that my skating has completely changed. My speed has become so much faster, my quickness, my foot speed, everything has become a lot better through this camp. My lowlight is knowing that I was skating the way I was before and knowing that I should have done this camp probably three years ago because it is so beneficial. What I’ve taken away, is that you can always get faster, you can always work on your stride and foot speed. This camp really opened my eyes to how fast someone can get, and I would recommend it to anybody.

My highlight of my first Q3 program was the last 10 minutes of this last session … seeing everything come together and feeling all the work that I put in, in those final sprints. My lowlight was probably the first couple of days when they kind of make you feel like I didn’t know how to skate and relearning technique from the basics. What I took out of it is a new found confidence in my explosiveness and speed in my first three steps.

I just wanted to take a brief moment and acknowledge my son's Lead Instructor, Marius Grandahl, and let him know how impressed I am with his instruction. As a teacher myself, I recognized excellent routine, high expectations and a relatable personality. My son is absolutely thriving in this environment. Cameron was already a good skater, but the improvement I'm seeing is remarkable.”

My highlight from this Q3 program was the probably the last day, seeing all of the improvements I made, how much faster I got, and the improved technique I learned from the three weeks. My lowlight was probably power week, and some of the conditioning at the end. What I got out of this camp was definitely a lot. I got a lot faster, my technique improved, the seminars with Steffany helped a lot; different mindsets, different attitudes, how to approach the season, how to approach just about everything, from off-ice to nutrition to daily habits. I definitely got a lot out of this camp.

I build my off-season training around the weeks that Quantum Speed is going to be in Vancouver. Those weeks are the most important in my training. Vanessa and the Q Crew correct all of the bad or lazy habits that you pick up over the playing season and reinforce correct body positioning and biomechanics in every part of my stride. Sometimes they are changing the smallest thing and it makes a huge difference in my speed and power on the ice.

Working with Vanessa and the team at Quantum Speed has completely changed my skating stride. I am more powerful and explosive on the ice – the evolution in my first step has been game changing. I get up to speed faster and my transitions are smoother and quicker. It’s like gaining an extra gear on the ice. The mental performance training with Steffany has helped to focus my mind on what I need to do to see success in my game. I have learned to shut out the noise that goes along with playing the game at this level and take responsibility for making sure that I am mentally ready to perform at my best.

My highlights were adapting my skating stride and improving my speed. What I am taking away is to always have a positive mindset and believing in what I can do and that I can change.

Over the years I have attended Quantum Speed™ they have been able to help give me that extra edge against my opponents. With their insight and help on technique, power and speed I feel that my skating has been taken to the next level!

Hi, I am the Business of Colby Sissons. This was a line and a lesson that had to be spoken out by each group member on day one of Quantum Speed by Steffany Hanlen the founder of the program. Being in a room with Steffany will put a hold on all outside thoughts and really make you think of who you are as a person and where you want to go. In saying that Vanessa Hettinger and Quantum Speed have given me the tools to excel and pursue what I love at the highest level of hockey.

In the eyes of a scout, general manager, or head coach the first thing that they critique you on is your skating. Today's game at the highest level is all about speed and pace. The Q Crew at Quantum Speed are the best in the business when it comes to taking the time to break down your stride and helping you to be the best. From skate sizing, blade alignment, supporting what you do in the off ice sessions with what you do on the ice, every little thing is considered when striving to be a high performance athlete at Quantum Speed.

A line used often is, "Why be satisfied with just being ok." QS is not only a place where you go to be the best, it's a place where you are surrounded with people who make you want to be the best. All of these attributes separate Quantum Speed from any other power skating group or company in the world and with that being said I can't thank them enough because at the end of the day they are the main reason I am where I am today in the hockey world.

Since the first seminar of technique week I have been improving, learning, and making connections all for the business of Colby Sissons, and, in doing that I give a huge thanks to Quantum Speed for all that they have done for me, and will continue to do for me down the road as it is a must for every off season and should be for you as well.
